Higher Education in Pécs
The University of Pécs, with around 20,000–22,000 students, including more than 5,000 international students, and approximately 1,500 lecturers and researchers across its 10 faculties, is one of Hungary’s largest universities and a key knowledge centre in the Transdanubian region.
Its roots date back to 1367, making it the oldest university in Hungary. Today, it offers a wide range of programmes with strong capacities in medical sciences, engineering, IT and business, providing a continuous supply of internationally experienced, skilled graduates. The university plays a central role in research, innovation and industry cooperation, supporting the region’s economic development and investment attractiveness.
