Bridging International Markets with Baranya County

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pécs-Baranya (CCIPB) has launched a strategic initiative to collaborate with entrepreneurs who have lived abroad for an extended period and have since returned to Hungary. These individuals have led businesses or held key positions in foreign enterprises, gaining valuable country-specific expertise and networks. By formalizing their role, CCIPB aims to leverage their experience to support local businesses in entering international markets and attract foreign investments to Baranya County.

To facilitate this, CCIPB has introduced the CCIPB Business Development Ambassador – CHINA status, which serves as a vital link between the business communities of two countries. This initiative fosters economic cooperation and enhances investment opportunities. The first pilot project of this program was launched with China, setting a precedent for future collaborations with other countries.

Background

Numerous entrepreneurs in our region have spent a minimum of five years abroad, either operating their own businesses or holding executive positions in foreign companies. Upon returning to Hungary, they bring with them invaluable market knowledge and business connections. CCIPB recognizes the potential of utilizing these insights to support local businesses in their international expansion and to attract foreign enterprises seeking Hungarian partnerships or investment opportunities in Pécs-Baranya.

Through their established international networks, these entrepreneurs assist CCIPB in drawing investors to the region. Given the growing demand for structured and credible support in this area, CCIPB has formalized this initiative by introducing this external advisory role.

The Role of the CCIPB Business Development Ambassador

The CCIPB Business Development Ambassador acts as a bridge between the business communities of Pécs-Baranya (Hungary) and the designated country, facilitating economic cooperation and fostering successful business engagements. Their role is to channel the investment and business interests of foreign entrepreneurs into CCIPB, ensuring seamless integration into the Hungarian market. This position allows returning entrepreneurs to actively contribute to the local economy while strengthening cross-border business relations.

CCIPB’s leadership, along with its international business team, will hold quarterly meetings with the Business Envoys to plan programs and define relevant action points.

Terms of Mandate

The CCIPB Business Development Ambassador status is awarded for a fixed term of four years, corresponding with a chamber cycle. Each country will have only one designated envoy per cycle. The mandate automatically expires at the end of the chamber cycle but may be renewed upon mutual agreement between both parties.

The CCIPB Business Development Ambassador role is an honorary title that provides a prestigious platform for returned entrepreneurs to contribute meaningfully to the region’s economic development.

CCIPB is excited about the potential of this program to strengthen Baranya’s international business connections and attract strategic investments. With the successful pilot project in China, we look forward to expanding this initiative to other key markets in the future.
